Revolution - A Sudden, Radical, AND Complete Change
I am a Black Bilingual Dominican Woman who has many roles yet the commonality of them all is I am a HELPER. I will acknowledge I am a woman first. While I am a parent, a daughter, a sister, a prima hermana, an educator, a therapist and a dope friend. I am a lover of food, plants, books, and love spending time with those who see all parts of me. My favorite person in my world is my daughter.
I love my people and I want to see us all thriving NOT just physically but mentally.
I do this work because I love the community in which I was raised and I knew I wanted to impact the lives of families and children I worked with. I love us! The struggle for me was the oppressive systems I was a part of and I knew I could still be a ride or die for my people and my community in a different way. Historically therapy has not been a safe space for people who look like us.
And we here! And I am committed to shifting that narrative. My hope is for my community to engage in the inner work that will promote their mental wellness.
Along with being a therapist, I have worked as a Bilingual Social Worker in Charter School Networks in Harlem/Washington Heights, Independent Schools and worked in hospitals across NYC over the past 17 years.
